Exhibitions at Sea Pictures Gallery in 2015

Totally Photographic V – The Award Winners.

Although we specialise in marine art this exhibition features two of the 2014 Landscape Photographer of the Year Category winners – Andrew Midgley and Tim Smith – alongside work from multi award-winning photographer Paul Coghlin and Rebecca Nason and Glyn Barney.  We have chosen to allow the photographers free choice in what they submit. We asked simply for images that they were particularly proud of in order to challenge visitors to consider photography as a solution to their art needs. The professionals we work with can all make their images bigger or smaller to suit your needs, something we can’t do with paintings! This exhibition will open on 24th January and runs until 28th February.

Sea Nature

Our Spring feature this year is an exhibition of work in all media depicting the coastal margins, the landscape, nature and wildlife of the coast rather than our usual focus on boats and harbours. We will introduce work from new artists – printmaker Richard Allen, jeweller Ruth Gibson and ceramicist Hilary Simms. This exhibition opens on 7th March and runs until 18th April.

Printworks VI

A comprehensive exhibition on the art of printmaking. This annual event is much talked about because we are the only gallery we know of providing an educational exhibition on printmaking. With several new artists added to our gallery regulars, we hope visitors will get as much enjoyment from it as we from creating it. This exhibition opens on 25th April and runs until 6th June.

The Summer Exhibition

Our Summer Exhibition will focus on images of our region from a variety of artists. This exhibition opens on 11th June and runs until 14th August when the gallery will close for 10 days.

All Hands on Deck

Our Autumn exhibition is a focus on the best of the current marine painters in the lead up to the Royal Society of Marine Artists’ Annual Exhibition in London where we present our prize. This exhibition opens on 4th September and runs until 12th October.

A Christmas Carol

Our Christmas exhibition is always a feast of work from many of the artists whose work has appeared earlier in the year together with work from new artists we wish to introduce our audience to. Complimentary gift wrapping and secret keeping always available. This exhibition opens on 7th November and runs until 4th January 2016.
